Enough About Books. This is a Dry Cleaning Blog

Sad to say One More Bite of the Apple will no longer be about literature, writing, publishing, authors, the whimsy of fate. Our beloved publisher, Oliver Castinstone, has run the numbers. He has issued the following proclamation: “Whereas this blog is now devoted to dry cleaning, dry cleaners, their associations, concerns, and newsworthy events, we make the following promotions.” Heads are rolling.

While at the dry cleaners the other day it occurred to me how a friend of mine once told me how often he saw celebrities at Mr. Shirts. Mr. Shirts of West Thirteenth Street, now defunct, once a Ray’s Pizza, also defunct, reincarnated as Let’s Tak About Books in the Dry Cleaners probably doomed to become a Starbucks given the megatrends of the moment. People don’t linger at the dry cleaners, do they? And if they do linger, are they the sort of people you might want to engage in literary musings disguised as the latest dry cleaner industry gossip?

Now that I report to Concetta Comedia del Arta in the new corporate alignment of the Styles Section I expect to be doing a lot of clubbing. That’s fine as long as I’m in bed by ten. You, dear readers, will have to read between the lines for kernels of bookish wisdom. If you happen to know where Paris Hilton picks up her dry cleaning, call the tip line. I think I’m getting the hang of this. Your reporter suspects this will blow over soon, probably after Oliver endures the dry cleaner convention in Reno Nevada and blows off some stream.
