My Sister Terri Hath a Deale

Terri Micene has a three book deal with Midnight Ink through Jessica Faust at Bookends. Her novel WILD GOOSE CHASE will be published in January 2008. Yes, this sounds vaguely like a Michael Cader entry on Publishers Marketplace and why not? Terri signed with Bookends last spring. You read it here. Then she attended the Book Passage Conference in Corte Madera and a scant two months ( and a second Boston Massacre later) she has joined the ranks of the published. Congratulations to Terri!

If anyone has Otto Penzler’s contact info, let me know. I’d like to drop him a note.

I won’t make the obvious ‘Faustian bargain’ joke, but I’ll hope to profit by it by mentioning it while refraining from it.

Bookends is an ultracool team, and a three-book deal is…well, either the cat’s pajamas (whatever that means), or, well, a whole lotta books. And maybe that’s the same thing.

Congrats, Terri. You are at one of the agencies that makes me have hopes for the future of the industry, and you must have written a fine book to put you there.

    Steve, thanks for the word.

David, I think Jessica and Terri did a hell of a job.

You guys are sweet. Jessica is a great agent and I’m excited to be on the Midnight Ink team. But the papers aren’t signed yet so this feels a bit premature, like telling people you’re pregnant when all you’ve done is pee on a stick.

I only wish I could write like my bruddha.

My phone has been busy. Good thing I have call waiting. I wouldn’t want to miss Otto’s congratulations.

Premature? This is cutting edge, the kind of reportage that’s making the big boys weep.
